Building our future

I don't find it random that I've found my way to a small town. I've felt God pulling me in this direction since I was a kid; always preferring a quiet walk in nature over the hustle and noise of the city.

And Goldthwaite? It's a hidden gem. I'm sure of it.

Here at the Texas Botanical Gardens, nature, Native American culture, and community come together to create a rare experience we so often forget exists: unity.

When you step into the carefully tended gardens; the patches of wildflowers, the waterfalls, the quietly running streams, you realize this is the way life is meant to be lived. Outside. Breathing fresh air. Observing the world around you with a clear and open mind.

It's a place where people of all ages gather and build a sense of community so strong, it feels like home.

The elders, educators, and parents of this city come together to teach the youth through special events, this specific one I had the honor of photographing is called Busy Bee's. Savannah and her team create such a magical experience for the children here that even the adults found themselves swept in, and learning new things; myself included.

The Texas Botanical Gardens & Native American Interpretive Center is an inspiration to everyone who has the chance to visit. They are helping shape a future generation of explorers, thinkers, and nature loving individuals, and the world is better for it.

So, get outside. Breathe.

Clear and open your mind.

Don't limit yourself to screens and stale air.
