Based in rural Texas, I photograph families the way life happens - gently, honestly, and without interruption. No forced poses, just real moments as they unfold. I'm also committed to keeping your images safe: every photo is stored securely, and I take care to frame children in ways that protect their identities while still being beautiful and shareable.
The meaning behind my name
I started this business with intention. My goal is to be completely transparent and offer something I feel the world desperately needs; a fresh perspective. Jesus, family, nature, food, and local businesses are my main muses.
Each of these builds the tight knit communities around me, and I value their presence deeply.
Sheltered Light is not about hiding light, it's about treating it like the treasure that it is.
I chose this name because I believe that family is the most important thing, and protecting our children fiercely starts at home.
We're not just raising humans, we're responsible for growing humans who are capable of changing the world.
Of being a light.

My favorite bible verse
"You are the light that shines for the world to see. You are like a city built on a hill that cannot be hidden."
matthew 5:14

Nice to meet you!
I'm Lauren
I'm a Christian woman, wife, and mama. Equal parts homebody and dreamer. When I'm not behind the camera, you'll find me at home with my babies, in the garden, on a walk collecting wildflowers, lost in a good book, or thrifting something with character for my home. I love to cook and bake, and I believe there's something sacred about a table full of people and good food.
If I had all the time and money in the world, I'd build a home for children who don't have one, a place where they'd feel completely safe, loved, and cared for. That dream lives close to my heart. In the meantime, I'm also very slowly writing a novel (emphasis on slowly), which I hope to finish one day, probably between a batch of bread and a sunset walk.
